The smaller scoop is for the gearbox to help maintain transmission temperatures on track and road. Secondly, to improve aerodynamics by creating a low pressure area as air accelerates past its smooth surface. This reduces drag, which works towards improving grip, handling as well as fuel efficiency.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLastly, on performance models, the under tray often provides increased cooling by either venting cold air to, or extracting warm air from the engine bay.
