As a result, it reuses all original mounting points, as well two additional fittings\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eusing Rivnuts to existing holes in the front subframe to ensure strength and protect the underside of the car.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe design itself spans across the entire front end to help improve aero dynamics whilst the large centre scoop directs air up into the engine bay, helping to maintain under bonnet temperatures at speed. The second scoop is for the gearbox to help maintain transmission temperatures on track and road.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePlease note:\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe under tray uses existing mounting points and bolts, but it is essential the original plastic fittings the bolts screw into are in good condition. These should only be reused if they still support the bolt properly and you are able to tighten it firmly. If they are worn or broken and offer little to no resistance as you wind the bolt in, they should be replaced with new items from Ford, as failure to do so may cause the under tray to work loose.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo secure the under tray’s additional fixings, two existing holes in the subframe require enlarging. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWhat does an under tray do?\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe under tray has three main purposes: to protect the underside of the vehicle from foreign objects flicking up and causing damage or accelerated wear. Secondly, to improve aerodynamics by creating a low pressure area as air accelerates past its smooth surface. This reduces drag, which works towards improving grip, handling as well as fuel efficiency.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLastly, on performance models, the under tray often provides increased cooling by either venting cold air to, or extracting warm air from the engine bay.
