Carrying on from the success of the 981 generation Boxster/Cayman, 2016 saw the launch of the 718 generation model. Controversially the 718 Boxster and Cayman featured a flat 4 turbocharged motor in the place of the previous N/A flat 6, rather like marmite this divided opinion with some people loving it, some people hating it!
The 2.5 Turbo flat 4 found in the S and GTS models is an incredibly torquey unit, especially in such a small sports car and produces some impressive performance figures which far eclipsed the previous model. The MA2.22 engine also gave a very distinctive, almost Subaru like engine note.
