The Megane Mk4 RS had big boots to fill following the much loved Mk3 RS. However Renault decided to take a slightly different approach by focusing on sharp, confidence inspiring performance whilst also maintaining everyday usability.
Gone was the previous 2.0 turbo engine, replaced by a much more modern turbocharged 1.8 providing more urgent acceleration and strong mid range torque. Emphasising the daily usability, the 3 door body shell of the previous model was dropped for a more family friendly 5 door variant, and for the first time in a hot Megane, an optional dual clutch automatic gearbox further added to this cars wide range of usable performance.
