Often dubbed as the “baby A45” - Mercedes released the W177 A35 to sit directly in the centre of all things hot hatch, competing with the likes of Audi, BMW, Ford and Honda.
It still featured the upmarket interior an design akin to the A45 counterpart whilst offering a slightly lower power figure, to bring it in line with the competition.
