Designed and manufactured by Scorpion’s experienced engineering team, this 76mm (3″) downpipe exhaust system is tailored specifically for the VW Polo GTI Mk5 1.8T. By replacing the standard exhaust downpipe, it optimises exhaust gas flow from your turbocharged engine and helps enhance performance for a more involving driving experience, all while maintaining a clean, OE-style fit and finish.

Sports Cat or De-Cat?

Scorpion offers two downpipe configurations to match your driving preferences:

Sports Cat: Balances power gains with reduced emissions and improved road compliance. Provides a deeper tone than the standard restrictive downpipe without droning.
De-Cat: Maximises exhaust flow and volume with a straight through section. This is intended for off-road use only.

How Does It Improve Your Polo GTI?

A downpipe upgrade improves your car by reducing exhaust back pressure at the turbo outlet, allowing the turbocharger to spool faster and operate more efficiently. This results in noticeable gains in horsepower and torque, sharper throttle response, and improved mid range pull, especially when combined with ECU tuning.

In addition, a high flow sports cat or de-cat downpipe enhances exhaust sound, delivering a deeper, more aggressive tone under load while reducing heat retention in the turbo system.
