The Audi S1 8X delivers incredible all weather performance through its Quattro system and 6 speed manual gearbox, but tuning the EA888 engine quickly exposes the limits of the factory drivetrain. The most notorious weak point is the OEM clutch, which is highly prone to slipping even under early Stage 1 torque levels. To ensure that your increased power is reliably transferred directly to the tarmac, upgrading your drivetrain hardware is essential.
Uprated Clutch Kits: An absolute necessity for any modified S1. High torque performance clutch and flywheel packages engineered to eliminate slipping, handle Stage 1 or Stage 2 power, and retain an excellent pedal feel for daily driving.
Limited Slip Differentials (LSD): Maximise your Quattro system’s true potential. Upgrading to a performance LSD drastically improves front end grip, reduces understeer, and allows you to put the power down much earlier on corner exit.
Engine Mounts & Drivetrain Bushes: Factory rubber mounts deflect heavily under hard acceleration. Upgrading to polyurethane drivetrain bushes and stiffer engine mounts (such as the dogbone mount) eliminates wheel hop, reduces sloppy engine movement, and provides a significantly crisper, more precise gear shift.
