Pagid Racing Brake Pads: Precision Under Pressure

Pagid Racing Brake Pads: Precision Under Pressure

When it comes to braking performance in motorsport and high-performance road applications, few names carry the same weight as Pagid Racing. Known for their uncompromising approach to friction technology, Pagid Racing pads are trusted by elite teams across endurance, GT, and touring car championships and fitted as OE on some of the world’s most prestigious vehicles.

In this blog, we’re spotlighting two standout compounds we supply: the RSC1 for carbon ceramic brake systems, and the RSL29, a proven performer in endurance and club-level racing. But first, a quick look at the brand behind the pads

Check out our range of Pagid Racing RSL29 and RSC1 brake pads here!

Who Are Pagid Racing

Pagid Racing is the motorsport division of TMD Friction, a global leader in brake technology. With roots tracing back to 1925 in Essen, Germany, Pagid has evolved from manufacturing friction materials for commercial vehicles to becoming a benchmark in high-performance braking.

Today, Pagid Racing pads are developed and manufactured in Germany and the USA, and are fitted as OE on cars from Porsche, Ferrari, Bugatti, Audi, and more. Their compounds are engineered to deliver consistent performance across extreme temperature ranges, with precise modulation and minimal wear.

Pagid RSL29: The Firm Favourite

The RSL29 compound, easily recognised by its yellow backing plate, is one of Pagid’s most versatile offerings. Originally developed for endurance racing, it’s now a staple in:

  • GT and touring cars
  • Prototype endurance series
  • Club racing and sprint events

Key features include:

  • Low to medium friction level with excellent modulation and release characteristics
  • Stable performance across a wide temperature range (optimal between 400–500°C)
  • Easy bedding-in behaviour, making it ideal for teams and drivers who need quick setup
  • Long pad life, even under sustained high-load conditions

Whether you're running a full race weekend or just want consistent performance across multiple track days, RSL29 pads deliver the kind of feedback and endurance that builds driver confidence. Some of our customers run RSL29 pads on the road, and whilst that's not advised (or legal in some countries), it does pay testament to their quality.

Pagid RSC1: For Carbon Ceramic Brakes

The RSC1 compound is specifically designed for use with carbon ceramic discs, which are increasingly common on high-end performance cars. These pads are ideal for track days and race applications, offering:

  • Consistent friction from 100°C to 700°C - meaning predictable braking lap after lap
  • Medium initial bite with a flat friction curve for progressive pedal feel
  • Disc-friendly wear characteristics, helping extend the life of expensive ceramic rotors
  • Steel and aramid fibre construction, bonded with a low-metallic resin for durability

While not road-legal, RSC1 pads are a go-to for drivers who demand confidence and control under high thermal loads. They’re especially popular among owners of vehicles like the Porsche 911 GT3 and Ferrari 458 where ceramic brakes are standard. These are also popular aftermarket pads for a lot of BMW owners with carbon ceramic brakes as standard, or optioned in build.

The Round Up

Pagid Racing pads aren’t just about stopping power, they’re about control, consistency, and trust. Whether you're running carbon ceramic brakes on a supercar or pushing a GT car through a long stint, the RSC1 and RSL29 compounds offer proven performance backed by decades of motorsport heritage. If you're unsure which compound suits your setup best, feel free to reach out, we’re always happy to help match the right pad to your driving style and vehicle.
