Celebrating 75 Years of Formula 1 at the 2025 Festival of Speed

The 2025 Festival of Speed is set to host its most ambitious celebration yet, marking the 75th anniversary of the Formula 1 World Championship. Goodwood will leverage its esteemed position in global motorsport to curate an unparalleled tribute to F1’s rich history, bringing together some of the sport’s most iconic figures, teams, and cars for an event like no other.

A Historic Celebration of Formula 1

In 2025, Formula 1 will take center stage at the Festival of Speed, with legendary drivers, teams, and an extraordinary collection of more than 80 historic and modern F1 cars gracing the iconic Goodwood Hill. This milestone celebration will transform the Goodwood Estate into a hub of F1 excellence, paying homage to the sport’s greatest achievements.

The Festival’s main paddock, traditionally featuring the F1 Pit Lane, will be reimagined for an exclusive F1 showcase, offering fans an unprecedented opportunity to get up close to their favorite cars and drivers. This unique access remains a hallmark of the Festival of Speed experience, making it one of the most immersive motorsport events in the world.

‘The Winning Formula: Champions and Challengers’

The Festival’s 2025 theme, ‘The Winning Formula: Champions and Challengers,’ will highlight the multifaceted history of F1. The showcase will be divided into six key categories, each illustrating a distinct chapter in the evolution of the sport:

The Prologue

Delving into the origins of top-tier motorsport, this category explores the Manufacturer’s World Championship (1925-1927) and the European Drivers’ Championship of the 1930s, both of which laid the groundwork for modern Formula 1.

The Pioneers

Highlighting the early days of the F1 World Championship, this segment will feature the cars and drivers that defined the sport’s formative years and set the stage for its future.

The Innovators

F1 has always been at the forefront of engineering and technological advancements. This section will celebrate the groundbreaking designs and radical innovations that have shaped the sport over the decades.

The Champions

No F1 celebration would be complete without honoring its greatest competitors. Over the past 75 years, 34 drivers have claimed the prestigious F1 Drivers’ Championship, while 15 teams have secured the Constructors’ title. Expect an incredible lineup of championship-winning cars and drivers to take to the Hill.

The Underdogs
