BMW introduced the G87 variant of the M2 in 2022, to feature the S58 powerhouse found in the G80/G82 M3/M4 and other performance models in the lineup.

Believed to be one of the last M-cars to feature a 6 speed manual transmission, alongside an 8-speed ZF auto counterpart, the M2 is aimed at those that prefer a smaller, more nimble chassis.
