Unlike it’s Golf counterpart, the Scirocco R still utilised the Mk6 Golf R powertrain, whilst still being front-wheel drive, a relatively rare configuration for modern hot Volkswagens.

That didn’t stop the Scirocco R from being a success, even to this day, strong aftermarket support and a large fan base keep this car relevant, even amongst the hyper hatches of today.
