Forge Motorsport has a long and proven heritage in the development of high-performance components across every generation of the BMW MINI platform. As the chosen manufacturer for the MINI Challenge race series, we bring unparalleled knowledge, engineering expertise, and real-world motorsport experience to every product we design. This background allows us to consistently deliver some of the most advanced and performance-focused upgrades available for MINI vehicles. With the introduction of the F66 generation MINI, Forge Motorsport has wasted no time in expanding its portfolio of industry-leading performance solutions.
Introducing FMINDK61 - a premium carbon fibre induction kit engineered to deliver an immediate and noticeable improvement in performance. Designed to enhance both driving engagement and engine responsiveness, the system significantly improves airflow while reducing intake air temperatures. This enables the turbocharger to spool more quickly and operate more efficiently, resulting in sharper throttle response, improved engine efficiency, and stronger, more consistent acceleration throughout the rev range. This part will replace OEM part 13715A30AC9.
Alongside the performance gains, FMINDK61 also enhances the vehicle’s sound profile, producing a deeper, more purposeful intake note with pronounced turbo spool and dump valve sounds under boost. The result is a noticeable upgrade in performance, sound, and stunning aesthetic look to your Minis engine bay.

Design and Materials
During our initial testing the weakness found with the OE airbox were most definitely the quantity and directional flow of the air. As such, we explored several different avenues, before settling on a replacement upper airbox which incorporated the OE lower airbox and cold air feed which provides consistent cold feed of air into the lower airbox that can then be delivered into the Forge upper airbox design.
Performance is at the core of this intakes design. The enclosed carbon airbox plays a critical role, forming a barrier between the cone filter and the surrounding engine bay to help maintain lower intake temperatures. We’ve also fully utilized the factory cold air feed due to using the OE lower half of the airbox in order to deliver a consistent supply of cool, dense air to the Forge air filter. The construction of FMINDK61 uses high-quality carbon fibre is prepreg 2x2 twill formed in an autoclave from billet tooling and finished with an anti UV gloss gel coat which does not suffer from yellowing during over heat cycles. It’s design has seen an increased diameter from 88mm of the stock inlet pipe to 100mm which produces a volumetric increase of around 46.7% in just the connecting pipe from turbo inlet adapter to the airbox alone.
After running tests and reviewing data it was decided that we would not use a panel filter, but instead our Forge cone air filter which has been designed with a high quality, high flow, synthetic nanofiber filtration media which is pleated to maximize surface area and in turn increase the turbos air flow. FMINDK61 is supplied with a replacement inlet hose, which replaces the now too small OE hose and smooths out the convoluted section known to cause turbulence. We would strongly recommend combining FMINDK61 with FMINLH27 to extract the maximum performance gains.

Dyno Testing
Testing was completed using Performance Remap in Gloucester with their VTEC 4-wheel drive dynamometer, this was to ensure all our data has been achieved with results as accurately as possible by an independent tuner. As shown in the dyno results below, peak wheel horsepower increased by 11 BHP. Notably, the power gains begin at 3,000 RPM and continue to rise progressively all the way to the red line. In addition, torque improvements of up to 17 Nm can be seen as the engine climbs further through the rev range. With these combined gains delivered by the FMINDK61 and FMINL27, the B46 engine now feels significantly stronger in the mid-range and continues to pull confidently right up to red line.
The benefits can be further increased with ECU re calibration or a performance tuning module, this allows increased potential to be extracted from your performance hardware by unlocking conservative factory settings, optimizing combustion, and allowing the engine with its performance hardware to operate closer to its true potential.
