Toyota has doubled down on performance once again and we absolutely love to see it. While many manufacturers are quietly retiring their hot hatch and performance divisions, Toyota continues to push forward with genuine driver’s cars. The latest proof? The new GRMN Corolla, a stripped‑back, track‑focused evolution of the already impressive GR Corolla.

A Corolla Built With the Nürburgring in Mind
Cooling has been a major focus too, with a new water‑injection system for the intercoolers, a clear nod to the demands of endurance racing.
Toyota hasn’t held back on the chassis. The GRMN receives:
- A fully revised suspension package
- Re‑tuned electric power steering
- Optimised all‑wheel drive calibration for high‑speed stability
- New bump stops for better control at the limits
The aero kit is equally serious. A new bonnet, bumper and vented front wings help manage heat and reduce pressure build‑up in the arches, while an adjustable rear wing adds proper track‑day credibility. The bronze forged wheels borrowed from the GR Yaris complete the look.

Inside, Toyota has removed the rear seats entirely and fitted lightweight bucket seats designed to accommodate a racing helmet. The result is a 30kg weight saving, helping the GRMN feel even more focused.
For those who still need some practicality, Toyota is developing a Morizo RR variant with the rear seats reinstated and an eight‑speed automatic gearbox.

Will It Come to the UK?
As with the standard GR Corolla, the GRMN is unlikely to reach British showrooms despite much of the Corolla’s production being based in the UK. That’s a shame, because this is exactly the sort of car the UK enthusiast scene would embrace.
Still, its existence alone is encouraging. At a time when performance divisions are being scaled back across the industry, Toyota is doing the opposite: investing, innovating and giving enthusiasts something to get excited about.
