Sound

The Akrapovič Evolution Line (Titanium) transforms the sound of the Audi RS 6  and RS 7's V8 engine, offering a dynamic yet refined auditory experience. Equipped with a valve on each side muffler and a complex active X-connection, the system balances exhaust pulses from both sides of the engine for precision sound tuning. Both the valve housings and X-connection are cast in Akrapovič’s in-house foundry, ensuring top-tier craftsmanship.

Designed for versatility, the system provides a deep, resonant rumble at low revs, a strong mid-range resonance, and a high-frequency top end that reflects Akrapovič’s motorsport heritage. Downshifts are accompanied by a sharp, engaging note to heighten driving enjoyment. Tuned for everyday usability, it avoids unwanted drone or excessive noise, offering the comfort and refinement expected of an executive vehicle like the Audi C8.

Performance

The Evolution Line (Titanium) optimises performance by reducing back pressure and providing a freer-flowing exhaust design, allowing the V8 engine of the Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback to breathe more efficiently. This improvement enhances throttle response, delivers sharper acceleration, and creates a more dynamic driving experience. Dyno testing conducted by Akrapovič confirms measurable gains, including an increase of +15.8 hp and +13.2 ft-lb of torque at 6,150 rpm. Additionally, the titanium construction achieves a weight reduction of 10.4 kg—24.7% lighter than the stock system—resulting in improved agility, handling, and overall vehicle balance. These benefits are realised without the need for ECU remapping, ensuring seamless integration with the factory setup.

Design

This exhaust system combines engineering precision with a striking visual aesthetic. Constructed entirely from lightweight, high-grade titanium, the system features a unique layout with one central and two side mufflers. The larger stainless-steel link pipes include custom flex tubes that are fully insulated where they attach to the downpipes, ensuring thermal stability and durability.

The exhaust concludes with bespoke carbon fibre/titanium tailpipes, featuring a sandblasted titanium interior and a handmade, dynamically shaped carbon fibre outer sleeve. The result is a powerful and sporty finish that complements the performance and elegance of the RS 6 and RS 7 .
