The factory intercooler used by the B46 and B48 engines has proved to struggle with the demands of higher power.
Using a huge tube and fin stepped core, our high performance intercooler provides almost double the core volume of the OE unit and a frontal area around 70% greater than OE, too. That's a significant difference.
The stepped core itself uses internal turbulators to improve its cooling performance and the CFD optimised end tanks assist with maintaining the best possible airflow across the core.
Our development focussed on finding the ‘sweet spot’ of maximum IAT cooling versus minimum pressure loss. This has allowed us to achieve increased size without increased lag. Win win!
