The MMX Performance chargecoolers for S63-powered BMW M5 & M6 F1x plus M5 F90 improves power and torque output significantly by substantially reducing charge air temperatures. Using a large tube and fin stepped core, these coolers provide literally double the cooling area and are 28% larger in size per cooler vs OE.
The factory charge coolers used on the S63 engine have proved to be unable to cope with the demands of higher power, hard driven cars, showing up as serious power losses during hard driving as air intake temperatures soar.

The intercooler core was developed specifically for the high requirements of the F1x & F9x M-Cars. Using a large tube and fin stepped core, our performance chargecoolers provide double the cooling area and are 28% larger per cooler than OE.
Our development focussed on finding the ‘sweet spot’ of maximum IAT cooling versus minimum pressure loss. This has allowed us to achieve increased size without increased lag. By consistently reducing intake air temperatures (IAT), heat soak is minimised delivering increased performance again and again. No need for the recovery cool-down times needed for the production cooler.
